Background introduction & design philosophy

Urbourne Architecture was founded by Mr Tze Lee in 2013. Tze Lee has been creating mnemonic architecture since 2004. Through years of experience in both designing and appreciating the built environment, his aim is to create buildings conveying mnemonic architectural ideas to the public realm hence fulfilling its philosophical gesture throughout the projects in various urban, suburban or rural contexts.

What is (our) Mnemonic architecture?

Our interpretation of mnemonic architecture has been metamorphosed into our projects, capturing the user's attention or "mind mapping" via the craft of space, juxtaposition of form, fondness of materiality and the ambiguity between light & shadow. Our architecture is always aiming to be highly sustainable achieving low energy consumption via ecologically sustainable development (ESD) principles, whilst keeping construction costs at its lowest via innovative construction methods and the creative material use.

By having both design principles & pragmatic strategies working simultaneously, we deliver to our clients an artful composition which we like to call our "mnemonic" Green architecture.
